Play Ball!

America’s Great National Pastime. How can we possibly live without it for even just one season?

The crowded stadiums. The hotdogs and beer. The cheering crowd. Imagine, Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park and Wrigley Field filled to capacity. Picture every single person in every single seat, dead. Their bodies rotting in the hot summer sun. A little over 130,000 people gone. That’s how many people that have died from the coronavirus just in the U.S. alone. So far.

No matter. Let’s just open up the country as if everything is just dandy. We’ll follow Trump’s lead. No masks necessary or even desirable. We need to be entertained. Victims created for the sake of our amusement are casualties of war. How many deaths are acceptable?

They’ll be no peanuts and Cracker Jacks. No one cares if they ever come back. You can root, root, root for the home team. No one wins. It’s a shame. I guess it is really is one, two, three strikes you’re out at the old ballgame.
